The chlorination is a process of disinfecting and pre-commissioning new or existing water supply's when connecting them to the water mains or extending a buildings hot or cold domestic system.

The recognised standard for chlorination tests is the BS 8558 and BS6700 alongside any other additional requirements that your local authorities call for.

If these standards are not met then the local water board has the right to refuse the final connection to their mains water supply. These standards are put in place to ensure that your property has water fit for human consumption and will not contaminate the rest of the water company's water supply.

Water Treatment

You have to get your mains and pipework systems cleaned if you intend to have any new installations as part of a building procedure, if any major extensions have been carried out, if any contamination of the water supply is suspected, where underground pipe work has been installed or if the water systems has been unused for any length of time.
